Where We Were In 2016—Joining the Reflection Trend of 2026
Since the turn of 2026, social media has been asking a simple question: Where were you in 2016?
For us, 2016 marked a quiet milestone. After 6 years in business, we moved into our very first official gallery space. Our world was shaped by the monthly flea market—searching for vintage maps, old globes, and paper ephemera, then lugging those finds back to the studio to transform them into map and globe art.

We were still called ImagineNations, and our focus was clear. Everything we made began with what already existed. Up-cycling vintage globes and ephemera into new worlds. The next chapter—crafting worlds of our own—hadn’t yet revealed itself.
Some things, it turns out, are beautifully constant. Kyla is still our gallery director. Vintage globes and maps still spark endless ideas. And our new brick-and-mortar gallery in San Anselmo remains a place where stories are shared, worlds are imagined, and everything is made by hand.
Looking back, it’s clear that curiosity and creativity were always the compass. We are forever grateful for the journey!
