The Magic of Major League Baseball's Opening Day 2023

This year, Baseball’s Opening Day is on March 30, 2023, that marks the ceremonial start of Spring, and is considered by many die hard baseball fans to be a National Holiday.  With the opening of big league baseball season, it brings the hope that this is your team’s year, a symbol of rebirth, a chance to see U.S. Presidents throwing the first pitch, and an occasion to forget last year’s season if your team didn’t win the World Series.  With most teams typically playing their home opener on a weekday afternoon, it comes as no surprise that many fans feel it is good reason to call in sick or skip school.

Even baseball players love opening day.  To quote famous Joe DiMaggio “You always get a special kick on Opening Day, no matter how many you go through.  You look forward to it like a birthday party when you’re a kid.  You think something wonderful is going to happen.”

The first Opening Day, also the first game played in the National League, was on April 22, 1876, which makes it the oldest ongoing celebration in sports other than the Olympics.  In honor of Opening Day 2023, Wendy will be offering her personalized vintage nostalgic style Baseball Stadium Ballpark Push Pin Maps at a 10% discount starting now through 4/15/23.  Batter Up!
