Meet the Team Behind Wendy Gold Studios
At Wendy Gold Studios, our mission is to transform vintage globes and maps into timeless canvases of creative exploration. Here’s your chance to meet our amazing all-woman team, and learn a little bit about us. Without their hard work, dedication and support, this artistic journey would never be possible.

Wendy - Artist and owner
- Dream travel destination: Japan, because I love the design aesthetic, the culture, and of course the food.
- Favorite artist: I'm incredibly inspired by so many artists, but if pressed, I'd have to say Chuck Close.
- Favorite part of my job: The process of creation and continually challenging myself. Also, working as a team to bring the vision to life.
- Favorite WGS piece: Probably the California Map Collage. It is inspired by the beauty and wonder of where I call home, a place I love.

I manage the day-to-day aspects of the business, both behind the scenes and in the gallery. Most importantly I handle all customer interactions and inquiries, making the creative process exciting and seamless for our clients.
- Dream travel destination: The French Polynesian Islands. Tahiti or Bora Bora would be a dream. Anywhere with white sandy beaches and over-water bungalows.
- Favorite artist: My dad, Russ Baker. Using acrylics and oil paints, he creates amazingly hyper- realistic portraits and illustrations.
- Favorite part of my job: Working with our awesome customers. Our personalized maps and globes are so unique to each individual’s style, travels, and experiences, and I love hearing the memories that are shared through the customization process. The creativity behind turning a concept into an interactive piece, all while seeing the client’s vision come to life, is fascinating to me.
- Favorite WGS piece: The Flora and Fauna Map Collage. I’m partial to anything with purple in it, and I love how all the colors pop on the gray background.

At Wendy Gold Studios, you’ll find me running the gallery, helping guests, and keeping production moving behind the scenes. I help bring our handmade globes to life, from applying the artwork to assembling and finishing new designs. I also work with our carpenter on the wooden globe bases and troubleshoot production challenges along the way.
- Dream travel destination: Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. The dramatic mountains, glaciers, and turquoise lakes look almost unreal. It’s definitely somewhere I’d love to explore.
- Favorite artist: Rob Gonsalves. His magic realism plays with perspective in such a clever way. I enjoy how his paintings blur the line between reality and imagination, with new details to discover each time you look.
- Favorite part of my job: Making handmade globes! I feel very fortunate to have met Wendy and Kyla at a time when they were looking for someone to take on this project. It’s been incredibly fulfilling to help bring these unique pieces to life by hand.
- Favorite WGS piece: The Culinary Map of the World Map Collage. As a former chef, this piece holds a special place in my heart. Food has been a big part of my life, so having that connection reflected in a piece of art makes it particularly meaningful to me.

Everly- Social Media Manager
At WGS I started by working in the gallery, helping customers, assisting with production, and handling small but essential tasks like stickering countless pins and assembling lots of pin kits. More recently, I took on the role of social media manager, which has been both challenging and rewarding. I work closely with Wendy, capture photos and videos in the gallery, and post regularly on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Go follow our journey!
- Dream travel destination: Salzburg, Austria, where The Sound of Music was filmed. I would love to frolic through the beautiful green hillsides and take in the stunning blue skies and surrounding mountains.
- Favorite Artist: Edgar Degas. I especially love his paintings of ballet dancers, which bring back fond memories of doing ballet throughout my childhood.
- Favorite Part of My Job: Working for my mom, Wendy! It is so inspiring to see her at the helm of such an extraordinary business, and I feel incredibly lucky to help bring her vision to life through social media. I’m excited to continue growing the WGS community and following!
- Favorite WGS piece: The Not All Who Wander Are Lost World Map Collage. I love its ’70s-inspired color palette and bold graphic lines, as well as the meaning behind J.R.R. Tolkien’s quote. This piece reminds me that life is a journey filled with unexpected twists, turns, and discoveries along the way.
