Wendy Gold Studios Partners with AFSP Greater SF Bay Area on Special Edition Globe & Map Art

Today, Wendy Gold Studios, the woman-owned California art studio known for its push pin globes and map art is excited to announce its partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Greater San Francisco Bay Area on a special edition collection titled Full Bloom: Out of the Darkness. All net proceeds from the collection will support the organization’s mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.

The collection includes a map art print and a handmade art globe, pairing vintage florals with a dramatic, black antique-style world map to create a symbol of beauty rising from darkness. As a tribute to AFSP and the life-saving work the organization does, 988, the national Suicide and Crisis Lifeline number is woven into the map artwork. The collection's name draws from AFSP's Out of the Darkness Walks, a nationwide series of events that brings local communities together across the country to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.

Full Bloom: Out of the Darkness is a 10-year anniversary edition of one of Gold’s fan-favorite designs. The globe is part of the soon-to-launch Handmade Globe Collection, a premium line of more than 40 original globe designs. Gold spent nearly a decade developing a proprietary process to handcraft her globes, making her the only woman globemaker in the world.

"My art is all about bringing more beauty into the world, while embracing that the world and all of its beauty looks differently to everyone,” said Wendy Gold, artist and founder of Wendy Gold Studios. “Partnering with AFSP, an organization whose work is important to me and is making a direct impact in our own community, gave our studio a meaningful way to capture how even in the darkness, beauty shines through.”

The Full Bloom: Out of the Darkness Map and Globe are available now at wendygold.com. All net proceeds from the collection will be donated to AFSP’s San Francisco Bay Area chapter through the rest of the year.
